About My Podcast
My Podcast is called:
“How to invest in the Stock Market . . . The Beginners Guide”
I started a podcast in August of 2019 after writing for several years about buying stocks, my main purpose was to give my family the information I have so that when I leave this rolling rock of a planet they will at least know how I approached managing the family portfolio.
My podcast has now been listened to close to 100,000 times in over 133 countries and over 4000 cities, since inception last fall. Amazing to me, I feel very blessed to have helped people with my simple knowledge of how to get started investing in the stock market.
I’ve received emails from all over the world with at this point 100% positive input. However I do remember saying in one of the podcasts that if you have anything negative to say….keep it to your self, I’m doing this for free! While a podcast is great because the reach out to the world is so broad, also in a podcast you can start, stop and replay what you want to hear again.
Therefore I took my original writings and cut out the personal family background stuff. I will say this however, in almost every email I received they always addressed the family stories as some of their favorite parts of the podcast.
That means a lot to me and I’m so pleased that is the case. Not exactly sure why I received great feedback but it honestly does feel a little self indulgent telling the family stores. I didn’t originally talk about my family so much to be self indulgent it simply is that our life experiences determine so much of who we are, how we react to people and the decisions we make.
I did so to record my stories, my families stories for my family. I have a new 2020 model grandson now in this world and it feels good to know that for him as an adult he will hear from his grandfather the wisdom of his great grandfather too (my dad).
I thank those who have listened to the podcast and who will read this page, I truly hope it helps and that is my main goal.
I worked for corporate America for almost 30 years. I’m retired now and I’ve taught myself how to buy and sell stocks. I buy and sell individual stocks, at this point in time and I don’t buy mutual funds, bonds or any other financial instruments. I only own individual companies.
My philosophy starts with I want to own and understand the company of the stock I own.
First let me say this….I’m not going to spend any time on my investment pedigree because I don’t have one, I’m an average guy and I am certainly not an expert but I have been buying and selling individual stocks with my retirement fund for almost 8 years now with strong results. Plus it didn’t cost me any money because I did it myself.
How did I develop these metrics? I simply studied the market for many years. I waded through all the information and decided for a beginner in the market these should serve me as a start. But what I found out was that while not perfect it helped me buy mostly successful stocks. I was and am energized by successful investments. Who wouldn’t be? It's fun!
